Obituary

Donald Robert Beatty, the second son of the late Neseree (Miller)
Beatty and the late Samuel Kiffian Beatty, was born April 29, 1948
in Washington D.C. Donald graduated from North Carolina
Independent School District in 1967. Donald married Delouris
Washington and from this union there are three children: Duane
Beatty, Denise Childs and Cory Don Washington.
He served in the United States Army in the Search Light
Company for twenty-four years. He had several duty stations to
which included three tours in Vietnam. He was door gunner on
the Helicopter Military Intelligence Radar specialist. He also had
numerous tours that carried him to Germany, Korea and many
other countries and states.
Donald was known as “Pops” to all of his friends. He loved his
grandchildren and he loved cooking outdoors, taking pictures and
working with others.
On Tuesday, January 1, 2019 after a short illness, the Lord called
him home. Donald’s parents preceded him in death; as well his
sister Dana Coleman and ; and his brothers: Charles Beatty and
Douglas Beatty.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Delouris Beatty;
his children: Duane Beatty (Jessica), Denise Childs (Marcus) and
Cory Don Washington( Bianca); his grandchildren: Mysha,
Marcus, Evan, Asher, Christion, Hannah, Jayden and Steven;
sisters: Barbara Forman and Mable Meacham; and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

My dear sweet family..i'm so very sorry for the loss of a great man, great husband, great dad, and uncle! So many wonderful memories flood my mind of the family gatherings on Nye Street! Although thousands of miles may separate us, i love you all dearly! May God grant you all peace and healing❤
